Evolution

It is believed that the first baseball glove was invented in 1869.  It was not much more than a “hand sized” leather work glove with the fingers cut off and a little extra padding in the palm.  In 1875, Charles Waite wore the first glove in professional baseball and he was ridiculed for it.  Albert Goodwill Spaulding believed that Waite might be onto something and decided to start a sporting goods company.  One of their first products was a baseball glove.  It was at that point that the use of the baseball glove began to to be widespread.  It has now been an almost 150 year love affair that Americans have had with their ballgloves.  They have come in all shapes and sizes.  They have evolved in form and function.  They have cost as little as a couple of dollars to as much as $600 for some of todays models.

There has been one consistency over the evolution of the ballglove: They were made of leather.  We have yet to come up with a better material to make a ballglove, so if it isn’t broken don’t fix it right?  That consistent use of leather has, however,  kept us pretty set in our ways when it comes to caring for our ballgloves.

IT IS NOW TIME FOR A CHANGE!!

We have all used one or more of the following items at one time or another to care for our ballgloves or to help break them in.

  • Neatsfoot Oil
  • Petroleum Jelly
  • Shaving Cream
  • Saddle Soap
  • Mink Oil
  • Chew Spit

While some of these items can be ok in one phase of glove care or another, none of them provide the benefits of a complete glove care program.  Some should NEVER be used!   Some of today’s products are “liquid” thin and they quickly pass through the leather and absorb into and over saturate the “guts” of the glove .  Over time this adds weight.  Other “paste” or “cream” products are thick and heavy or greasy and sticky.  These products really only treat the outer layer of your glove.  They take forever to dry and absorb, if they fully dry and absorb at all.  This is a problem as it allows dirt to stick to and build up on your glove.   There has never been one product that could provide all all of those benefits, until NOW!

GLOVECON IS THAT COMPLETE GLOVE CARE PRODUCT THAT YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR. GLOVECON is a proprietary blend of ALL NATURAL ingredients. The blend was specifically designed to provide a complete- all in one glove care product in a FIRST OF IT’S KIND-convenient, no mess, easy to use, and environmentally friendly AEROSOL SPRAY. GLOVECON was developed with GLOVE SCREEN TECHNOLOGY. What is GST? It is basically sunscreen for your glove! It is an additional benefit that you will ONLY get in GLOVECON. Now we know your glove can’t really get a sunburn but it spends most of its life outside where the rays of the sun can do a lot of damage. Some damage you can see some you cannot. GLOVE SCREEN TECHNOLOGY will help to greatly reduce that damage and that leads to longer glove life.

IT’S TIME TO BRING YOUR BALLGLOVE CARE REGIMEN INTO THE 21ST CENTURY WITH GLOVECON!
